Fraternal Order of Police Endorsement

"It is a privilege... to present you our highest endorsement for your re-election campaign for the 17th Congressional District."
Today, the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge, announced their endorsement of Congressman Tim Holden for re-election in Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional district.
In a letter to Congressman Holden, President Les Neri wrote: “It is the privilege of the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania Sate Lodge, representing more than 41,000 law enforcement officers, to present you our highest endorsement for your re-election campaign for the 17th Congressional District.
“You have always been an active supporter of the law enforcement community, the officers, and their families,” President Neri continued. “Please accept our sincerest appreciation for all of your hard work.”
“Having worked beside so many brave men and women when I served as the Sheriff of Schuylkill County, I am honored to have maintained such strong ties to the law enforcement community,” said Congressman Holden.
“Law enforcement officers face no easy task, and put their lives on the line every day to ensure our safety. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge as their choice to continue representing them in Congress.”
Congressman Holden concluded, “I will continue to work closely with and be a strong advocate for the law enforcement community.”
Congressman Holden served as the Sheriff of Schuylkill County from 1985 until his election to Congress in 1992. The Congressman has a long history in the law enforcement community, prior to serving as Sheriff, he was a probation officer in Schuylkill County and served as the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.
Currently, Congressman Holden serves as a member of the Law Enforcement Caucus of the United States House of Representatives. Earlier, Congressman Holden was endorsed by the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association.
