“Given my background in the law enforcement community and my continued dedication to their advocacy in Washington, I am humbled to have the support of the brave men and women who serve as Pennsylvania State Troopers."

Today, the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association announced their endorsement of Congressman Tim Holden for re-election in Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional district.

In a letter to Congressman Holden announcing their endorsement, Pennsylvania State Troopers Association President Bruce Edwards wrote: “I am privileged to inform you that our members have unanimously endorsed your candidacy for re-election to the 17th Congressional District.”

“Representing more than 8,000 active and retired State Troopers, the PSTA seeks to endorse candidates who have the best interest of Pennsylvania and its law enforcement community at heart,” wrote Edwards.

President Edwards continued, “Your demonstrated support of law enforcement officers and your continued membership in the Law Enforcement provides you with current information on the issues and legislation important to our members.”

“I am tremendously honored to receive the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association,” said Congressman Holden.  “Thank you to President Bruce Edwards and his fine organization for recommending my candidacy to continue representing the 17th Congressional district of Pennsylvania. 

“Given my background in the law enforcement community and my continued dedication to their advocacy in Washington, I am humbled to have the support of the brave men and women who serve as Pennsylvania State Troopers.  They work hard every day to keep our state safe and I will work hard for them to ensure that they have a strong voice in Congress,” Holden concluded.

Congressman Holden served as the Sheriff of Schuylkill County from 1985 until his election to Congress in 1992.  The Congressman has a long history in the law enforcement community, prior to serving as Sheriff, he was a probation officer in Schuylkill County and served as the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.  

Currently, Congressman Holden serves as a member of the Law Enforcement Caucus of the United States House of Representatives.
